Give with Friends
Giving Circles are a global movement of collective giving. Grow your network, enrich your personal life, and make a bigger impact in your local community.
How does a Giving Circle work?
1. Join or create and donate
First, let the Acorn team know that you want to join a Giving Circle or set up your own Giving Circle. Then, set up an automatic payment to the Acorn Foundation – most people choose to give $50 a month. Your donations are pooled.
2. Nominate your recipients
Nominate a local community group you’re passionate about, or learn about groups from other members of your Giving Circle. Acorn can provide guidance about local groups doing awesome mahi.
3. Connect & decide
Get together with your Giving Circle once or twice a year to learn about the nominated community groups and vote to decide on your recipient/s. You can give all the money to one recipient charity, or split the funds between two or more groups.
4. Experience the feel-good factor!
Have fun connecting with people who share the same values as you, and experience the profound impact of collective giving. The Acorn team will share updates from former recipients on how your donations are being used in the community, so you can see the impact of your generosity – right here in the WBOP!
