The Royal New Zealand Plunket Society Inc.

Plunket is a not-for-profit national organisation whose people are passionately committed to supporting families and young children. They are the largest provider of free support services for the development, health and wellbeing of children under five in New Zealand and they see more than 90% of newborns each year.

Plunket offers parenting information and support as well as developmental assessments of your child. Their nurses provide support through home and clinic visits, mobile clinics and PlunketLine, a free telephone advice service for parents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Plunket also organises parent groups, parenting education and toy libraries, drop in centres, playgroups and education in schools – most of which are available nationwide and free of charge.

Without the vital contribution from the Acorn Foundation, Plunket could simply not deliver the community and education support services Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty under 5’s need and deserve. There are many families who are struggling to survive in this region and the work Plunket does helps to create a lifeline for them and their children.
