STEAM-ED

STEAM-ED provides afterschool, home-school, in-school and holiday programme sessions focussing on STEM topics. They educate children 5-13 years on topics such as Robotics, Space exploration, Inventions over the ages, Ecology and whatever else STEM-based (with some Art included) that we feel the children will be interested in.

Formerly the educational classroom wing of the House of Science Tauranga, STEAM-ED endeavours to break down barriers that some children experience that prevent them from having a go at science and technology. Robotics programmes are now in low decile schools to work with small groups of children and teaching staff, so we are giving professional development at the same time as the lesson.

Smaller class sizes allow the teachers to nurture those with learning disabilities such as ADHD and mild autism, these children are often passionate about the topics we study at STEAM-ED.
